 International Travel Requirements

Mon, Aug. 28, 2006
Updated Nov. 22, 2006

To all North Stars Players:

Travel to Canada for hockey and other international travel is getting more complicated every year.
Passports will soon be required for ALL international travel, including to and from Canada:

  • January 23, 2007 - Passport requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
  • January 1, 2008 - Requirement extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.

It now takes from 6-8 weeks to obtain a new passport. Since we have tournaments in Canada planned for 2006-07, all players should have or apply for passports now. Passports for minors 15-years and younger are valid for five years. All other passports (16- and older) are valid for ten years.

To fill out the Passport application form on-line, click Passport Application
To find where to go to submit the Passport application, click

In addition to a passport, North Stars parents/guardians should fill out a "Permission to Travel" form for their hockey player and have it Notarized.
