An Open Letter To All California North
Stars Family Members and Friends
The California North
Stars Hockey Club is pleased to announce that we have a new practice
facility to call our home on weekends.
Earlier this year,
Iceoplex management indicated it would not honor our existing ice
rental contract in Vacaville. Since that time, the club has been in
negotiations with Iceoplex to keep the North Stars at the Vacaville
rink – the North Stars’ home for the last 3 years. While the North
Stars were negotiating in good faith, Iceoplex signed a contract with
another Norcal Tier club. This club specifically requested a clause
in their ice contract with Iceoplex that states that they will not
rent ice from Vacaville if the North Stars are still there. Although
this was unexpected and unfortunate news, the club worked diligently
to meet this challenge to acquire practice
ice.
We are pleased to
announce that the California North Stars and I.F.G. (International
Facilities Group) have a working agreement for the club to use the
ECHL Stockton Thunder’s practice facility (Oak Park Ice
Arena) and the Stockton Thunder’s new home rink
(Stockton Arena).
The North Stars will
be practicing in Stockton on weekends when our teams are not on the
road at top tournaments across the United States and Canada. As
always, our club will be representing Northern California’s best
elite hockey players.
We are currently
negotiating with other Bay Area rinks for weekday practice ice.
Further announcements will be made as soon as dates and times are
finalized.
